It's that time again, time to celebrate all the incredible things God is doing and has done in our lives. The Goal of Kids for Christ USA since the beginning has been to share this vision in every open door and empower parents/students and churches to plant and sustain clubs in every public elementary school in the nation. It has never been about money, if it was I would have charged every parent/student sponsor and churches a monthly or annual fee to utilize our services and our name. (Typically known as franchise fees.) As you know I don't!
Kids for Christ USA is about "equipping the saints for the work of the ministry". Then giving them a way to do it and the tools to do it. I am blessed that we have come so far, but we have a long way to go.
A few weeks ago I made you aware that our budget including my salary could be met if every family represented in our database became a $10 a month partner with us. Honestly, to this date (11/22/04) no one has made a single ten-dollar a month commitment. I don't know if maybe that seemed like an embarassing amount to give or what, but I learned 19 years ago while selling electronics for Silo and Video Revolution that a lot of $10-30 commissions can really add up. The key to sales wasn't the big sales, it was just selling product to as many as possible. I hope this is a clear example and not a bad one. It's true I have been better compensated this year than in the past and for the record KFCUSA also has had it best year ever financially, (that didn't take a lot) thanks to the consistent giving of about six families we can count on about $300-600 a month in support, with "God sent" one time gifts from others that keep us going. I am often asked, "How do you run a ministry that really needs around one hundred thousand dollars a year on 25k or less? BY THE GRACE OF GOD!
I am truly thankful to be able to say I am doing what I was born to do. (Not many can say that.) If God is prompting you, obey and hit the donate tab or mail a check. If you feel pressured by me, then please forgive me because THAT IS NOT MY INTENT! I just know that during the summer when I let you all know of the need for new sound equipment for the ministry I had to say it twice and you all came through. This has been an exciting year and it's not over yet. I expect to see more kids saved and more families touched in the closing weeks of the year. With your help "We're reaching a new generation of Kids for Christ".
