School District Retreats from Charging Christian Club Excessive Fees |
|
|
|
|
Omaha,
NE - In response to a demand letter from Liberty Counsel, the
Millard School District has agreed to allow Child Evangelism Fellowship
of Omaha (CEF) to use school facilities to hold Good News Clubs on
the same basis as secular clubs that meet in the schools. Liberty
Counsel wrote a letter to the district advising the board that the
First Amendment requires equal access to school facilities for religiously
based, nonprofit youth groups such as Good News Clubs. Equal access
means that religious groups are given access on the same terms and
conditions as secular groups.

From the Heart of a KFCUSA Mom |
|
|
|
The following email comes from a mom who's kids have been involved in
KFCUSA for years. She has also been a part of one of our parent teams in the Tulsa area.
The email appears almost exactly as I recieved it, except for the fact that I
protected the identity of her, her children and the local churches she was suggesting I contact. She begins with a promotional idea and then bares her soul. I feel the context of what she is saying is so highly important for the overall KFCUSA family to hear and connect with that I posted it below. (With her permission.) I hope it moves you as it did me. Here is the email:

URGENT NEED! Pray for Our Schools, NOW! |
|
|
|
|
The story below was written almost three weeks ago after a very intense personal prayer time. I originally posted the story the next day, but pulled it down because I didn't want to be seen as some sort of wacko to folk visiting our site. Today in light of the story on Glen Beck's show, I felt impressed to re-post it because we need to be praying! Now here is the original story:
For years I have believed that the great revival many of us
have talked about would come through a people group most would not suspect:
Children and Teens. For the past 6 ½
years of Kids for Christ USA
I have seen the beginnings of it. I have
seen it mostly in my own city, with pockets across the country......BUT NOW I
believe we are all about to see, and be astounded! Most folks say “something
needs to be done about America’s
schools and school system”, but they won’t even pray about it. That’s why when they see God moving in
schools they don’t really even connect the dots - that God is, in fact moving.
If pastors “got it”, or if they “saw it” I would be in such high demand
that I would have to begin turning down churches and just do video conference
training sessions. Sadly, as a nation we
are complacent in praying for our schools and taking action, well…

Prayer still needed for Chase Cooper |
|
|
|
|
The following is an update from Ken & Judy Cooper. We have been sharing their updates on Chase's. You may remember that just before the 2006-07 school year ended we found out that Chase had a tumor. I asked you all in the KFCUSA family to pray for Chase. We need to keep praying and agreeing for Cahse and the Cooper family. Here is the update:

The following article comes from the August issue of Ministry Today magazine:
Michael
Zigarelli, an associate professor at Charleston Southern's School of
Business, polled more than 20,000 Christians of all ages from 139
countries about the busyness of their lives and how it affects their
relationship with God. His report,
which concludes almost six years of collecting data, echoes the
obvious: yes, we're busy people; and yes, our hectic lives prevent us
from spending more time with God. Turns out almost six out of every 10
Christians around the world agree to the latter. But there are a few elements to Zigarelli's study particularly fascinating.

UPDATE: Prayer Needed for 14 Year Old Boy |
|
|
|
A couple weeks ago we made you all aware of a rather urgent prayer
need. A 14 year old boy named Chase who was a Kids for Christ kid for years had
been diagnosed with a brain tumor. His
mother told us that they don’t believe the tumor to be cancerous. It has caused a series of seizures and has
grown to just under a inch in diameter. The following is about the proceedure set to take place Monday (6.4.07) in her own words:
