Letter from Parent - Followup to the Cutting Story |

“I am amazed every time God answers a prayer in my life. For almost the past year my prayers have been for my 14 year-old daughter. Last July we discovered that she had been caught up in this horrible horrible cycle of cutting. I had heard of it before but never in my wildest dreams would have thought my daughter was doing this.
Just the thought of her hurting so bad that she would need to do this. We immediately admitted her into a program and got her help. Sought prayer from the church and alerted her youth pastors and mentors about her problem. November 2004 she had another episode and we immediately sought help again. She's been in counseling since then but I learned last weekend that she had been doing it again and also she now has a friend who is doing it.
“Most of the intervention that you find on this subject is from a Worldly viewpoint, not from the viewpoint of our Lord who knows the pain these kids are facing. So I began to pray for another way to show my daughter that she would listen to. And this morning I received this e-mail from Kids for Christ and began searching and found your letter to kids and your song. I'm going to make sure she gets this and that we find that CD for her. Praise God there is an alternative in music with groups like yours. God bless you and please will you pray from my daughter…”
