My name is Karen Skaggs. I have recently become involved in Kids for Christ USA as one of the parent sponsors at a Tulsa area elementary school. Even though I have just become involved with KFCUSA, I am no stranger to the program.
Four years ago, I met Bob Heath. He told me of his dream to place a program in public schools where children would be taught the bible and how to worship God. Immediately I fell in love with the idea! It stirred me so that I told many people about the program and even donated to the organization. I was 100% behind this program and the potential it had to change the direction of our nation, by reaching our children. Something you must know is four years ago I had my children in private Christian school. Even though this program did not directly affect my children, it stirred something in my heart. I knew this was a mandate from God and I so admired Bob for stepping up to the plate and obeying God.
This year all three of my children have started their first year in public school. I knew I had to get involved in Kids for Christ USA. So I gave Bob a call and told him” I wanted to help him with Kids for Christ USA”. I attended my first meeting this year, about 130 kids attended and about half of them made decisions to ask Jesus in their hearts! WOW, I can’t think of a better investment of my time than giving into a ministry that is all about raising up a generation of kids that love God and can share with others the good news that Jesus loves them. |
