We typically don't share information like this with you all because we
have worked very hard to be seen not as a potential liability but as an
asset to the schools. We have worked all year to encourage young
believers to carry their Bible in their backpack and read it on their
free time. In light of this, I feel this article that I received via
email today from Christian Educators Association International is very
important for us as Christians, Parents, Teachers, and Ministers. |

Cutting: A National Epidemic |
|
Several months ago one the Kids for Christ USA Team informed me of an issue that I hate to admit I did not know about, so I more or less blew him off. Just a few days later a Father told me about a situation involing a friend of his daughter. Within days of that two moms from the same school called me about the same topic.
The issue is refered to as "Cutting" among the kids (primarily grades 6-12) and in the media as "Self Mutilation". Kids, as a means of trying to cope with the stress of life take earasers, paper clips, scissors, razor blades... and cut themselves in various places on their bodies. Chances are teens you know are involved in this unbelievable practice. To me this makes teen drug and alchol abuse almost seem like a child's play. |

They Said It Couldn't Be Done In New England |
|
I have been told over and over, "Sure, Kids for Christ works in Tulsa, OK, but it will never work outside the Bible belt." They say just keep dreaming Bob, maybe someday when nationwide revival hits the USA. Repeatedly, I have responded with a somewhat cocky, "I guarantee you it will work anywhere in the country. We may have some opposition, but the law is on our side and further, it has been upheld in the courts many times in the last 20 years." |

California here I came... and come again in July |
|
On April 8-10, I was blessed to take part in a children workers training at Abundant Living Family Church in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. I spent Friday pouring this vision into Danny Aguirre and Pastor Mike Madrigal. (Those two know how to feed a guest minister!) |

“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit...”—John 15:16
I love movies. I love sports related dramas like “For Love of the Game” and comedic sports movies with a legitimate plot like “The Replacements”. Rocky Balboa was the hero of my college and young adult years. I especially love the epics that depict a young man as, “The Chosen One”. I, like many of you, anxiously watched “The Matrix” movies as Neo began to learn who he was and just like you I was grossly disappointed as Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader in the Star Wars series. I am however, still waiting for the sequel to the ridiculous comedy “Kung Pow” even though it was an off the wall parody of every martial arts film ever. They promised a sequel and I still want to see how our hero develops. Oh, and don’t forget “Jet Li” in The One. (I didn’t see it, but if fits the illustration.)
