One Thing
"...One thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead".

In 1978 a young boy wanted to play Basketball for his school's team.  However, he was cut by his coach and told "practice and come back next year".  He came back and made the team.  He went on to play for the University of North Carolina and eventually the Chicago Bulls.  He led the Bulls to 5 NBA Championships.  That boy was Michael Jordan.

On a Gatorade commercial during the years he played for the Bulls Michael said,
"I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career; I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot...and missed.  I have failed over and over and over in my life.  And that is why...I succeed."

The world sees Michael as "The greatest basketball player that ever lived".  Michael could never have become the greatest player ever to play the game if he hadn't chosen to forget the things that were past and press toward the goal.

With exception of Jesus every man who has ever lived, failed in their attempt to reach the goal at some point.  So in order for us to reach our goal(s) we have to learn to forget about failure and go forward.  Talk about making the greatest effort in history!  Jesus walked out the whole Effort thing to a level higher than any man every recorded in history.

My dad always told me, "Winners never quit and quitters never win".  I don't know who he was quoting, but whoever it was, he man was right.  You know, Jesus said I don't do anything my doesn't tell me to do or say anything He doesn't tell me to say, so maybe God inspired that old saying.
