On April 8-10, I was blessed to take part in a children workers training at Abundant Living Family Church in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. I spent Friday pouring this vision into Danny Aguirre and Pastor Mike Madrigal. (Those two know how to feed a guest minister!)
Then on Saturday I ministered twice to their people, sharing how to start a Bible Club in their child's school. I even made two men and women do one of my gross games. It was hysterical! I met a 5th grade girl who is doing what many say can't be done: She started a Bible Club at her school. Furthermore, she is running the program at the moment without adult assistance. She is a bright, precious young lady with an infectious smile named Brittany. She is an absolute inspiration. I asked her to write a little testimony about her club. When I get it I will share it with you all. In addition to all that, as if that wasn't an exciting enough weekend, I was graced with the privilege of spending 4+ hours with five of the most passionate, wonderful people I have ever met. They represented a group of Russian speaking churches in Sacramento and they drove down to hear and meet with me about Kids for Christ USA. Not knowing California very well, I thought they drove two or three hours. BOY, WAS I WRONG! They drove 10 hours to hear and meet with me. I told them, "I wouldn't drive 10 hours to hear me." They are looking into translating "How Are You Doing That?" our step-by-step guide to successful Bible Clubs in the schools into Russian. After spending four hours with them I was both elated and exhausted. I am looking forward to the 3 day conference in Sacramento on July 15-18, 2005. If you or someone you know is interested in KFCUSA and you live near there, COME!! After Pam returned home, she began trying to find a parent that would be interested in co-sponsoring a club with their child. She finally found one. The school approved the club. There was opposition, but it only served to draw attention to the new school club. Now the club is a month old and running roughly 50 kids a week in Brookfield, MA. People across the area have contacted us and both congratulated us and asked us to help them get something started in their children's school too. Now not only the gospel is being preached to children, but children are learning the "Ticket to Heaven Prayer" and preparing to reach their community with the good news. I will be in Sturbridge in September 2005. The exact date has not yet been solidified, yet September is "firm" and then on April 1, 2006 Bill Wilson of Metro Ministries, Rod Baker of Victory Christian Center Tulsa and I will be doing a conference at Sturbridge Worship Center. |
